MENS THERAPY GROUP

Registration Inquiry

Focus :

This group offers men a structured space to explore how early family dynamics continue to shape present-day relationships, coping patterns, and recovery. Using a family systems lens, we examine the roles and rules learned in childhood — the hero, the peacekeeper, the scapegoat, the lost child — and how these once-adaptive strategies now limit intimacy and authentic connection.

Family of origin work here goes beyond talk. Members engage in experiential practices that allow unprocessed memories and emotions to be worked through in a felt, embodied way — not just discussed in the abstract. This matters for trauma processing because many men have learned to intellectualize or minimize pain as a protective strategy; experiential work opens access to what talk alone often can't reach.

Format :

  • Guided meditation and breath work

  • Somatic and body-based awareness practices

  • Chair work and parts-based dialogue

  • Witnessing and shared processing among group members

This work connects directly to recovery. Unresolved family of origin trauma frequently underlies addictive and compulsive patterns — substances, work, sex, control — that develop to manage overwhelming feelings or avoid vulnerability. Processing these early wounds loosens the pull toward old coping mechanisms and builds capacity for healthier emotional regulation and connection. Rather than treating recovery and family of origin work as separate tracks, this group treats them as intertwined — healing the root patterns lasting recovery depends on.

Members can expect a confidential, respectful space where vulnerability is met with support, not judgment.
