Eric is a LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) from National-Louis University. a CSAT-S (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist/Supervisor), and CMAT (Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist) trained directly under Patrick Carnes and the International Institute for Trauma & Additional Professionals (IITAP). Eric is also trained in EDMR therapy and has advanced training in trauma resolution and other compulsive behaviors. He seeks the use of modern technology and evidence-based approaches to facilitate healing and growth. drawn from his Masters degree in Computer Science at the University of Chicago.
Eric believes that our brains and emotional selves will always seek healing and growth given the opportunity. The more we discover how this happens, the more effective and efficient therapy can be. He is a frequent speaker on the topics of shame, codependency and addiction.
Despite his technical focus, Eric still believes that the relationship between therapist and client is of the utmost importance for effective counseling. He understands that love, trust and compassion are absolute prerequisites before any true transformation can be accomplished. Eric considers it a privilege to be part of this process.
